Recently, I got a Mega Everdrive X5. Because of this, I have been playing LOTS of Sonic 3 Complete, a hack of Sonic 3. If you are unaware of this hack, it combines 3 and And Knuckles, just like the official game, but also has a bunch of setting to tweak (some of which are only on the accompanying website) like credits music, whether Flying Battery is between Carnival Night and IceCap (the originally intendrd order) or the final placement of Between Mushroom Hill and Sandopolis, whether Mushroom Hill uses its early name Mushroom Valley, and more. It even fixes weird issues like Knuckles being pink with yellow socks in cutscenes, Super Sonic using normal Sonic's sprites sometimes, and non-Sonic characters being screwed up in Doomsday. Overall, its a good hack and you should check it out if you get the time.
